Probiotics can benefit more than the gut. Sometimes these are used for skin conditions, improving health of vaginal and urinary areas, prevention of colds and allergies, and overall oral health. There is no one probiotic supplement that is ideal for all. It is essential to consider the need for it and then perform research to find out what strains or products will provide the most benefit. Supplements are generally more potent, as they often include multiple strains. Still, probiotics might be taken in by consuming fermented drinks and foods, including sauerkraut and kombucha.
