The Yagna And The Positivity And It Brings

By Mary Graham

The religion of Hindus is both a philosophical and natural system reliant on ritual sacrifice that balances the cosmos and serves divinities. The sacrificial part involves no malice, because it is synonymous with worship, and the nature of divine transcendence. The practice has been around for many generations and centuries of devout worshippers.

The Vedic system is the basis for things that are found in religions that were founded in the Ganges, Indus and Brahmaputra River region. This is called Yagna, which is a physical rite that finds its parameters in Vedas. This is a perfected system that follows formalities as well as rules that conform to needs of supplicants.

Priests for this are called Brahmanas, and they perform the sacrifice for supplicants. These schedules the worship according to personal signs in tandem with signs found in the universe. Yagam, another name for it, is a centering ritual that ideally achieves Yogam, which is the state of positive harmony with the universe. Brahma here is the prime and perfect worshipper.

Ideally, then, the ritual should be an addition to what Brahma puts together for the end worship, the final rite that will influence the universe. Everything and anything done for Yagam will form a system of universal worship, humans and dieties together performing the necessary tasks to uphold the four main goals of life. Thus the cosmos as we know it here and in the ideal state is sustained.

While the universal purpose of Yagam is important, the secondary purposes might also be specific to an individual supplicant. This means that besides the formal requisites for Brahma and the dieties, the person in question can include his own needs for purification, forgiveness and the balancing of karmic spirit. This will make life that much better suited for serving the universal order.

The visible part of the Yagam is contained in a wheel, which conforms to the Vedic laws which themselves have visible and spiritual representatives in the world. Mastery of this wheel is reserved for priests, because it is as complex as the universe it symbolizes. It can also predict the future of a supplicant, and can help cast a positive tone on human events like marriages, births and buying property.

The offering will be classed according to their being spiritual or physical. Physical things can be as common as fruit and as rare as gems. The spiritual sacrifices are the prayers, the things that are wrought in the mind, and brought out by the breathing and living body of the supplicant to serve the dieties that they are properly connected to.

A Yagam is very powerful when all the manifestations and requisites are met and when the place it is performed is prepared well in advance. Preparations will include things like ritual cleansing, lustrations and supporting offerings that take out evil influences. All participants need to have undergone cleansing, too, and other preparations.

Space and time are telescoped into this sacrifice, becoming a universal locus during the time the ritual is performed and connect to the divinities and universal order. Doing research about this through the internet will be an excellent way to go. The gods and the universe wait for the sacrifice of those who are pious and devout.
