Ways In Which Nickel Causes Hair Loss

By Ida Dorsey

Nickel is a metallic elements that occurs naturally in nature. It has several uses in our daily lives. It occurs a silvery-white metal with a golden tinge. It is a transition element that is hard and can be rolled into wires. Ways in which nickel causes hair loss are yet to be proved. Study is still underway as pertaining this issue.

This metal has very many uses in the world. These uses range from house hold utility to industrial production of chemical compounds. In industries, this unique metal chemical element is used in the manufacture of machines that have the power to contain high pressure fluids and highly corrosive materials. Things such as gas turbines and electric turbines as well.

This material is also mixed with other metallic materials to create stronger and more durable ones. These hybrid metals are usually called alloys. These alloys are used in production of coins and turbines that can function under water. Due to the fact that these alloys can conduct power, they are also used in transportation of electricity over long distances.

One of its many uses also is providing a hard-wearing and decorative surfaces. It is also very essential in the process of creating rechargeable batteries used by phones and other gadgets. Creation of stainless steel for the production of fine utensils and discs for recording purposes. Nickel elements can be collected and recycled at the end of their useful life.

The several uses are attributed to the numerous favourable characteristics of the metal. Compared to other metal elements, can again offer better resistance to corrosion, better toughness and strength too. In addition, their strength is not limited by the level of temperature. This chemical also has a number of useful magnetic and electronic properties as well.

Like any other element in nature nickel also has several ways in which it can cause harm to life or quality of life. Most metals are also toxic in nature and due to this they can cause harm to people. Some of dangers involved here are poising of heavy metals. There have also been cases of allergic reactions to direct contact with this metal.

The allergy is referred to as contact dermatitis. It is basically due to exposure to an irritant chemical compound. It has signs such as itching, redness and burning as well. Loss of hair is not one of the symptoms however. Hair loss also known as balding is majorly a genetic problem. The people that experience hair loss have a coding in their genes that causes this particular problem.

In conclusion there nickel is useful in more ways than one can explain. And in as much as it has a number of shortcomings too, hair loss is not one of them. Therefore one should not worry about losing their hair due to exposure to nickel or any other metal element unless indicated clearly.
