For people who suffer from acne, there is relief in knowing that there are natural treatments. Acne refers to a skin condition which involves formation of pimples on the skin. It occurs mostly in teenagers though adults are also susceptible. Most natural ingredients can be found from home or are bought from local stores. Natural treatment for acne comes in various forms. Nutritional balance is key when it comes to controlling acne.

Among the most useful treatments involves use of zinc. This is an option for those who do not want to use antibiotics. It has been shown to be very effective. It can be taken in form of supplements. However, it will be important to consult a doctor before taking zinc because it is known to bring about some side effects. Some of the effects include metal-like taste in the stomach and problems with the digestive system.

One of the causes of acne is lack of vitamin B5. For this to be combated, the diet should be supplemented using foods rich in the vitamin. Some of the foods in this category include split peas, peanuts and liver. There are also vitamin B capsules with the other option being taking water to which the vitamin in powder form has been added. This method is among the most effective natural treatments.

A popular remedy that is also known to be effective is the tea tree oil. It is an essential oil that can be applied on the affected area topically after dilution. It has an active agent that is effective in destruction of bacteria that causes the pimples. Besides the tea tree oil, raw and fresh garlic can be rubbed on the area that is affected. The garlic is rubbed on the affected area several times every day. Taking garlic seeds daily for a month also serves the same purpose.

One of the very simple modes of treatment is through use of peels of citrus fruits. Some paste is made from peels of the fruits. The paste gets applied on the lesions then washed after some 15 minutes. When the application is done regularly, the pimples disappear. The same outcome would be received if lemon juice is applied instead. Herbs like coriander and mint are very effective as well in getting rid of acne.

Paste that is gotten from herbs eradicates pimples. The herb known as fenugreek has paste that if applied to the face and left overnight will be beneficial. The paste gets washed in the morning. To get even better results, one should use a mixture of coriander juice, mint and turmeric powder.

One of the reasons that acne do not heal fast is squeezing. There is always the temptation to squeeze them. This only serves to increase sebum production. Besides, membranes that are below the skin will get ruptured. This is likely to lead to infections and also to spread of sebum. There will be more outbreaks.

Application of honey mask to the skin also helps. It will need to be applied once or twice a week. The antibacterial properties disinfect and heal the pimples. This helps those with sensitive skin.
